NATIONAL SPECIALTY SHOW
A national specialty dog show is an event organized by a breed's national parent club, spotlighting a single breed. It is regarded as a top achievement for breeders and owners, where passionate enthusiasts come together to exchange knowledge, celebrate their love for the breed, and showcase their finest dogs in competition. The 2025 National Specialty Show is in Hyannis, MA from April 11 - 17, 2025.
Breed standard
An AKC breed standard is a detailed description outlining the ideal physical and behavioral traits for each recognized dog breed. Each breed standard is created by the parent club (the AKC-recognized national club dedicated to a particular breed) and must be approved by the AKC. To see the full breed standard, please visit the breed standard page on the parent club website.

History of the breed
The Cavalier King Charles spaniel is an old breed and yet, it is also a comparatively new breed. The breed as we know it is less than 100 years old. Please visit the parent club website for a brief history of our beloved breed.
